Robert Schenkkan is the author of 4 episodes of HBO's forthcoming 10-episode miniseries THE PACIFIC, produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg. The Pacific is the long-awaited companion miniseries to Band of Brothers.

Schenkkan recently adapted Michael Crichton's ANDROMEDA STRAIN for Ridley Scott's ScotFree Productions and Tom Thayer, at A & E. Andromeda is nominated for seven Primetime Emmy Awards, including Best Mini-Series.

Robert Schenkkan is currently working on assignment for Fox, on a script dealing with the final days of the US withdrawal from Vietnam, as well as adapting Ben Mezrich's bestselling nonfiction book UGLY AMERICANS: The True Story of the Ivy League Cowboys Who Raided the Asian Markets for Millions for Kevin Spacey's Trigger Street, and Dreamworks. He is working with Bristol Bay and producer Bill Mechanic (Pandemonium Productions) on DESMOND DOSS, the true story of a WWII conscientious objecter who won the Medal of Honor for his heroic solo actions as a medic, saving over 100 men, while unarmed and under fire. His adaptation of Paulette Giles' ENEMY WOMEN is at Fox 2000.

Schenkkan is co-credited with Christopher Hampton on 2002's The Quiet American, a film adaptation of the Graham Greene novel of the same title. The Quiet American, directed by Philip Noyce, garnered an Oscar nomination for Michael Caine, as well as significant critical acclaim for the ensemble, which included Brendan Fraser.

For television, Mr. Schenkkan has written the mini-series Spartacus, which aired in 2003, and Crazy Horse.
